BLOOD DONATION DRIVE
The camp received an encouraging response, with 53 voluntary blood donors coming forward to donate blood. Following the mandatory medical screening, 13 donors were found temporarily ineligible, mainly due to low haemoglobin levels. As a result, 40 units of blood were successfully collected. Additionally, three AB-positive donors have volunteered to donate directly at GMC for an urgent bypass surgery case.
The blood donation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from teachers, parents, Rotarians, and members of the community, reflecting a strong spirit of service and social responsibility. Student volunteers also assisted in the smooth conduct of the camp by guiding and supporting donors throughout the event.
The initiative reinforces Rotary's commitment to humanitarian service and creating awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation. The collected blood will help save numerous lives and support patients requiring emergency and regular blood transfusions.
